Case studies of students

Work placement in Alice Springs

Ajay and Matthew from India, both studying a Master of Business Administration at Charles Darwin University Business School, travelled to Alice Springs to undertake their 300 hour work placement.

StudyNT works with Northern Territory employers to increase their understanding of the value international students can bring to their workplace – as casual employees, for work placements and on a post-study working visa.

Employers are usually surprised to learn that they do not need to sponsor a post-study working visa.

Work placement at Deloittes in Darwin

Over 3200 international students from 70 countries are currently studying in the Northern Territory.

International students bring with them different perspectives, cross-cultural knowledge and skills that can benefit local businesses.

Helen from China is a good example of this, she completed a three month work placement with Deloitte in Darwin.  This provided the Australian work experience that helped her obtain an ongoing position with Deloitte.

Watch the video for more about Helen’s experience and hear from Suzanne Archbold, a partner with Deloitte.
